Brian Atkins escapes prison to try and protect his estranged wife from dangerous mobsters, but he arrives too late. Brian is quickly re-arrested and everyone is sure he is responsible, until millionaire, good-ole-boy, dog-loving, talented defense lawyer Andy Carpenter comes to the rescue and begins an unusual investigation into organized crime, gambling, embezzlement, and high speed Starlight computers.

This is book 14 in the series, but it also works as a stand alone. I truly enjoy Andy Carpenter's dry humor, logical casework, and general outlook on life. Highly recommended.
