New Series with Unusual Characters

City of the Lost (Casey Duncan, #1)City of the Lost by Kelley Armstrong
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Detective Casey Duncan and her long-time friend Diana need to disappear to escape personal violence but is a secret, off-grid, invisible town in Alberta the answer? Rockton is filled with criminals and victims who are hiding from lives gone wrong. They are tightly controlled by a mysterious Council and a strong-willed local Sheriff but lately there have been murders, people have disappeared, illegal drugs are being produced, and cannibals are rumored to live in the dense forest surrounding the town. Casey investigates through a mass of twists and turns. Book one in a series of three. Great characters. Looking forward to the next one!

The Internet Users’ Group will meet Saturday, November 11, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Webster Memorial Library in Decatur.  This month’s meeting will feature a round table discussion of favorite travel, hobby, and shopping sites.

Please bring travel tips, hobby ideas, and shopping tricks to share.  We are especially interested in Internet sites that have the potential to save time and money over the holiday season.  A few examples might include AirBnB; Waze GPS; RetailMeNot,; AllRecipes,; Amazon Smile;  eHow; Wine Matching; eBay; and Homemade Christmas Gift Ideas.
