Great Summer Read (junior high and up)

This is a long book for YA science fiction... but well worth the time. My husband and I listened to the audiobook while on vacation and it melted away the travel miles. The story of the destruction of a far away mining colony and the fate of it's survivors is told thru the presentation of a series of documents, narrated by an odd alien-sounding voice. Great characters and plot twists. First book in a trilogy. Highly recommended junior high thru senior citizen!
